HALF CURVED THREE-TIER HOOD
LAMIHOOD™ custom range hoods are handcrafted in our Brooklyn NY workshop, where skilled artisans combine precision fabrication with premium materials to create truly bespoke kitchen centerpieces. Each hood is built using cabinet-grade plywood cores and finished with high-performance engineered surfaces sourced from leading global brands, including high-pressure laminate (HPL) and other advanced decorative materials.
These premium surfaces are engineered specifically for real-world kitchen performance, offering exceptional durability, heat resistance, color stability, and long-term wear without sacrificing design freedom. Every LAMIHOOD™ is made to order and fully customizable in size, shape, and configuration to complement any kitchen layout or architectural style from clean, minimalist designs to bold, statement installations.
Our craftsmanship allows your hood to function as both a high-performance ventilation enclosure and a visual focal point — the true jewel of your kitchen. Precision fabrication ensures clean lines, balanced proportions, structural integrity, and flawless detailing across every build. Behind every LAMIHOOD™ is the skill of seasoned craftsmen combined with advanced engineered materials, resulting in a refined, long-lasting product crafted specifically for your home.
Choosing the right size for your decorative hood is simple with our step-by-step sizing system. Each selection updates pricing instantly, making it easy to build your custom hood with clarity and confidence.
WIDTH
Start by selecting the width based on the size of your cooktop. Your decorative hood should always be equal to or wider than the cooking surface for proper visual balance and coverage. The insert opening inside the hood will be sized appropriately to match the cooktop while preserving the full outer decorative width.
HEIGHT
Next, select the height that best complements your kitchen layout and ceiling proportions. It is important to maintain a minimum of 30 inches of clearance between the cooktop and the bottom of the hood, while also following all local building and ventilation code requirements. Taller heights offer a more dramatic architectural presence, while shorter profiles create a clean, minimal look.
DEPTH
Finally, choose the depth of your hood based on both function and design preference. Deeper profiles create a bold, substantial statement and provide greater visual coverage over the cooking area, while shallower depths deliver a sleeker, more streamlined appearance. Depth should be selected to align with the overall style of your kitchen and the aesthetic you are aiming to achieve.
Our automated configurator makes it effortless to visualize each size option while your price updates live as you customize. Every dimension is crafted to order for a precise, balanced, and refined final result.
Your finish is where your hood truly becomes a design statement. Every LAMIHOOD™ is finished with premium engineered surfaces sourced from leading global brands, offering hundreds of curated options across metallics, stone looks, wood grains, matte finishes, gloss finishes, and specialty textures.
Begin by browsing the finish categories presented. As you select each finish, your hood preview will update in real time, allowing you to visualize how each surface transforms the overall look. Pricing adjusts automatically as finishes are selected, keeping the process simple and transparent as you design.
Each finish is selected not only for appearance, but for real-world kitchen performance offering durability, heat resistance, color stability, and long-term wear without sacrificing design flexibility.
If you do not see a specific finish shown in our standard library, you may still reference finishes from our certified surface partners. Simply note the brand and color code at checkout or email it to our team, and we will gladly quote and produce it for your project.
PLEASE NOTE:
For larger hood sizes and select textured finishes, the surface direction may be applied horizontally for best visual consistency. Even if a finish preview appears vertical, the final production will be fabricated in horizontal orientation to ensure the most refined and uniform appearance across the full hood surface.
Some finishes may show subtle seams depending on material and backer type. Metal-backed finishes offer the most seamless appearance, while wood-backed finishes may show minimal natural detailing. Every hood is crafted to achieve the cleanest result possible.
Product images shown may include digital renderings. Actual colors, textures, and surface appearance may vary slightly depending on lighting conditions, device screens, and material production variations. For the most accurate representation, physical finish samples are recommended prior to final order confirmation.
Selecting the right insert is simple when you follow these basic guidelines. Your insert choice is based on your cooktop size, ventilation needs, noise preference, and whether your kitchen is ducted or ductless.
1. CHOOSE YOUR INSERT SIZE BASED ON YOUR COOKTOP
Your insert should be sized according to the width of your cooktop, not the decorative hood. The insert should never be wider than your decorative hood opening, but it does not need to be the same width as the hood. For example, a 30" cooktop can use a 30" insert even inside a wider decorative hood. The decorative hood can be larger for visual coverage, while the insert only needs to match the actual cooking surface below.
2. CFM (AIR POWER) & NOISE LEVEL
CFM measures how powerful the fan is. Higher CFM provides stronger smoke and odor removal but also creates more sound. Lower CFM is quieter but moves less air.
As a general guide:
• 300–450 CFM is ideal for light to moderate cooking
• 600–900 CFM is recommended for frequent or heavy cooking
• Professional-style cooking may require 900+ CFM
Larger CFM also requires proper duct sizing. Smaller ducts with high CFM will increase noise. Bigger ducts allow the system to run quieter and more efficiently.
3. DUCTED OR DUCTLESS
All of our inserts come ready for ducted installation and most models can also be converted to ductless using a charcoal filter kit. Ducted systems vent air outside and provide the strongest performance. Ductless systems recirculate filtered air back into the kitchen and are ideal where exterior venting is not possible. We offer the proper conversion kits when applicable.
4. DUCT SIZE MATTERS
Each insert model specifies the duct size required, typically 6", 8", or 10". Using the correct duct size is important for both performance and noise control. Smaller ducts increase back pressure and sound. Proper duct sizing ensures quiet, efficient airflow.
5. BRAND & MODEL SELECTION
We offer insert options from Zephyr, XO, Elica, and Faber. Each brand provides multiple models with different CFMs, sound levels, and ducting requirements. After selecting your hood size and finish, you will choose your insert brand and model directly within the ordering process, with full specifications and pricing displayed clearly.
If you ever feel unsure, our team is always available to help you choose the right insert combination for your hood and your kitchen.
Choosing the correct insert ensures proper fit, optimal performance, and the quietest operation possible.
INSTALLATION GUIDANCE
Professional installation is recommended for best results. While installation is straightforward for qualified installers, proper electrical connections, ventilation alignment, and secure mounting are essential to ensure safe and optimal operation. Always follow your insert manufacturer’s specifications and local building regulations.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS
A minimum clearance of 30 inches is required between the cooktop surface and the bottom of the hood unless otherwise specified by your ventilation insert manufacturer or local building codes.
LAMIHOOD™ premium engineered finishes are designed for durability and everyday kitchen use. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemical solvents. Routine cleaning with a soft cloth and mild, non-abrasive cleaner is recommended to preserve the beauty and performance of your hood for years to come.
LAMIHOOD™ products are designed to perform in active cooking environments. All premium engineered finishes are heat-resistant and built to withstand temperatures of approximately 275°F - 760°F under normal operating conditions. For optimal performance and long-term finish preservation, it is recommended that the ventilation fan be operating during cooking. Proper airflow helps manage heat, moisture, and airborne grease, keeping both your hood and kitchen environment in ideal condition.
Every LAMIHOOD™ range hood is made to order in our Brooklyn workshop. Once your customization is finalized, production begins immediately.
